The Mouchette family has been in the retail business for over fifty years in Tuscaloosa. In 1947 George Mouchette fuonded an eletric motor company that later added lighting products and appliances.

In 1971 the company was named Lighting and Appliance and his son, Brooks Mouchette, joined the firm. Brooks assumed management responsibility and continued to expand the store's lighting and appliance line.

In 2004, Brooks moved the appliance division to a spectacular new 11,000 square foot showroom, East Gate Gallery.

The new Gallery is located on University Blvd. one mile east of DCH. East Gate Gallery was carefully designed to provide an exceptional shopping experience and the very finest selection of quality appliances.

The new Gallery's product mix includes outdoor furniture, gas logs, fireplaces, custom kitchens and gas grills.
